The Fashion & Sustainability course is perfect for people wanting to shape the future of the fashion industry. You will learn how to create forward-thinking fashion, with a focus on sustainability and ethical consumption. You will be taught and mentored by industry experts who are currently working within many sectors of the industry including fashion design, reinvention, forecasting and enterprise.

With a focus on fashion futuresbusiness strategy, and sustainable fashion business models and supply chains, you will gain the knowledge and skills to develop and manage a career in emerging fashion industries. Students will also have opportunities to apply their studies by partaking in sought-after internships at major events like Melbourne Fashion WeekEgo Expo, and more.

Collarts offers students a variety of real-life industry experiences so that they are career-ready when they graduate. Through our industry partnerships, students have opportunities to partake in a variety of real-world fashion experiences, gaining access to industry connections.

Students will graduate with a well-rounded understanding of sustainable fashion and design, both in Australia and overseas.

Entry requirements

Students must first meet the general entry requirements before progressing to the interview stage and meeting additional specific course entry requirements. 

All international student applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of commencement of study.

The academic minimum entry requirement is one of the following:

  • Completion of an Australian Year 12 Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or overseas equivalent
  • International Baccalaureate
  • Completed Australian AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework) Certificate IV
  • Completed Foundation year at any Australian Higher Education Provider
  • Completed one full-time semester at any Australian Higher Education Provider
  • Completed one full-time year at an overseas Higher Education Provider.

Meet the minimum English proficiency requirements evidenced by achieving an IELTS 6.0 (no band lower than 6.0) or equivalent

  • Applicants who do not meet the minimum English Proficiency Levels can take an intensive English course to gain the required level of proficiency at one of Collarts’ pathway provider partners.
  • All documents must be certified and translated (if originals are not in English).
