If you would like to gain a general understanding of the key concepts in psychology and set out on the path towards working as a psychologist, HR professional, coach, or researcher, then this study programme is for you.
The 6-semester programme consists of 4 semesters at International Business School in Budapest, Hungary followed by semester 5 and 6 at Dublin Business School in Dublin, Ireland. Qualifying students receive the degrees of both institutions.
Programme Content
Graduates of this double Hungarian and Irish degree programme will become behaviour analysts versed in psychological theory and research skills. You will be in a good position to work as a behaviour analyst, consultant or social worker, HR or recruitment expert, or marketing or consumer behaviour researcher. You will also be qualified for further studies to become a trained psychologist or business coach. The organizations you can work for are also very diverse: besides consultancies and not-for-profit organizations (foundations, associations), multinational corporations and SMEs also require the services of trained behavioural analysts.
In addition to providing a solid foundation in psychology in English, the programme also equips you with extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods. The faculty members teaching you on the programme all have real-life experience in counselling, clinical psychology, healthcare or, alternatively, people management and marketing, as relevant to the modules you study. The seminars at IBS are always interactive, where tasks, assignments, discussions, and experiments prepare students for thinking and working both individually and together in teams.
The knowledge of professional English language in psychology will set you apart as a graduate. This can be further enhanced by a two-semester study at Dublin Business School in Ireland where you can acquire an Irish BA (Hons.) in Psychology degree in addition to your Hungarian BA in Psychology (pszichológia alapképzés) degree awarded by IBS.
You can also opt to take part in the Erasmus+ programme while studying at IBS.
Skills and Competences
Communication skills, such as presentation, argumentation, and negotiation skills; use of IT tools; quantitative and qualitative research skills; intercultural and teamwork skills are some of the most important skills students will develop during the programme.
Career Opportunities
Through this programme you will have insights into all fundamental areas of psychology. As a result, you will be able to make a positive contribution from smaller firms to large multinational corporations, the public sector, or your own business in the areas of social work, consultancy, people management, marketing analyst or, using the quantitative research skills acquired, even as a financial analyst. To become a professional psychologist, in most countries, you will normally be required to conduct postgraduate studies specializing into clinical psychology, counselling, educational psychology, forensic psychology and so on.
