About International and European Relations, MSc - at Linköping University

Students will be equipped with the skills necessary to face the challenges of an increasingly competitive and globalised labour market. The programme also provides a solid foundation for further studies and research in the general field of international and European relations. The programme is divided into four components, each equivalent to one term:

International relations

European relations

International governance/Guided internship

Master’s thesis.

The curriculum consists of topics ranging from international law and security, to European institutions and Europe’s external relations, theories of international relations and organisation, diplomacy, contemporary issues of international governance, and research design and methodology. During the third term, students have the option of either taking courses with a general focus on international and global governance, or to pursue a guided internship with an organisation of relevance for international or European relations.

Entry requirements

Bachelor's degree equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen within political science, international relations, economics, history, geography, law, media studies, sociology and other social sciences - and for students with other disciplinary backgrounds who can demonstrate an ability to develop their potential in the subject area.

English corresponding to the level of English in Swedish upper secondary education (English 6/B).
