The Master program in Mechatronics & Smart Technologies generates added mechatronic value over and above the sum of its component parts, namely mechanical engineering, electronics and IT. The further development and interlinking of the three basic pillars of the program opens the door to technologies like electronic image processing, smart robotics, simulation and rapid manufacturing.
With supporting classes in such fields as leadership, strategic management, marketing and business administration, the program is an ideal preparation for knowledge-based careers in industry and the service sector worldwide.
Electrical Engineering
The potential for generating added value in industrial manu- facturing is moving increasingly in the direction of electronics and software development. The specialization in Electrical Engineering accordingly has a focus on electrodynamics and electro-mechanical simulation in addition to such fields as industrial electronics, drive systems and programming.
Mechanical Engineering
The specialization in Mechanical Engineering prepares gradu- ates for the challenges of modern mechanical engineering. The focus here is on simulation, hydraulics, pneumatics and material sciences, and also on mechanics, machine dynamics and handling technology.
Admission Requirements
The Master program in Mechatronics & Smart Technologies is open to graduates of Bachelor and Diploma programs in the fields of engineering/engineering science or natural sciences whose curricula involve at least 75 relevant ECTS points. The decision on the acceptability of prior qualifications is taken by the Program Director.
This Master program is an ideal follow-on such Bachelor programs as Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering & Management, as well as Environmental Engineering, Process & Energy Engineering. Admission will also be considered for graduates of study programs whose curricula correspond to the prerequesites mentioned above in the field of Production Engineering, Automation Technology, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Construction Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
