Project Management is a growing field with a strong focus on finding graduates with strong theoretical background in Project and Programme Management. 15.7 million new Project Management roles will be created globally by 2020 (PMI 2013).
Our MSc Project Management course has been designed to equip you with all the necessary skills and knowledge to design, plan and execute projects successfully. The course allows you to put theory and contemporary thinking into practical Project Management settings.
This MSc is designed with employers' requirements in mind, offering a broad understanding of all elements of Project Management such as stakeholder management, scope management, time management, cost management, quality management, risk management and people management, amongst others.
You will gain skills that are transferable across a number of industries including automotive, oil and gas, aerospace and defence, IT, engineering, healthcare plus many more.

How you're taught
Teaching and Learning methods include a mix of contact and non-contact activities, including lectures, seminars, presentations, group exercises, and independent or self-directed study, amongst others.
Interactivity is key to our teaching and we are committed to providing degree courses that adopt teaching methods that are appropriate to the student cohort and the specific modules. The interactive nature of the taught sessions also offers opportunities to gain feedback on your performance before being formally assessed.
A range of assessment methods are used across the course, the choice of which reflects the needs and demands of the different modules. Some modules will assess the ability to work collaboratively in a team and others will assess individual capability. Types of assessments mainly include reports, essays and presentations, there are no exams on this course.
You'll also use our virtual learning environment, NOW, which is a flexible web-based system that gives you 24-hour access to module learning materials and allows you to submit coursework electronically from anywhere in the world.
Support and Guidance
We want you to get the very most out of your time at NTU. That is why we ensure that support and guidance is in place, especially during assessment periods and the early stages of your degree.
You will receive a comprehensive induction at the start. You will also have a number of one-to-one tutor sessions during the year, which will allow you to discuss your personal and professional development, gain feedback about your work and raise any issues that you may be experiencing.

Placement year opportunities
If you are starting your degree in September, you can choose to add a year's work placement, making your Masters a two-year course. It is a great way to put your learning into practice and gain valuable real-world experience to boost your career. If you undertake a placement, you must take up the Business Research Project in Semester three.

If you are unable to take a full year's placement, but have completed at least 36 weeks, you can qualify for a Placement Diploma in Industrial Experience.
Career development
As an integral part of the degree, careers advisers will run a series of workshops where students can identify methods and strategies to enable them to effectively pursue their career goals. The workshops will focus on both home and international students and concentrate on developing skills and occupational awareness.

We are continually investing in our facilities, and transforming our learning and teaching environment to create an inspiring and innovative atmosphere.
The School is based in the impressive Newton Building on NTU's City site. In 2009 the building was involved in a £90 million regeneration project on the site. Whilst maintaining its historic beauty, the Grade II listed building was transformed into an ultra-modern complex.

If English is not your first language you need to show us that your language skills are strong enough for intensive academic study. We usually ask for an IELTS test and we accept some alternative English language tests. For a list of our language requirements please visit our English language page.
