About BA Psychology, BA, UG:Bachelor - at Regent's University London

This is an American degree, four years in length.

The study of Psychology uses both scientific and philosophical perspectives in understanding human behaviour and experience.

The Psychology major combines all the major areas of the discipline: scientific, philosophical, theoretical and applied.

You will become familiar with all aspects of the subject, including clinical, developmental, social, neuropsychological, counselling and applied psychology.

The BA in Psychology offers you a strong grounding in different areas of psychology. It will prepare you to participate in a competitively scientific context in the UK.

It will equip you with skills in critical thinking, deductive and inductive reasoning, social networking and communication, and allow you to participate in applied areas of psychology, such as consumer psychology, neuropsychology, mindfulness and coaching.

Key skills, aims and objectives

You will gain an understanding of the complexity and diversity of human behaviour in a variety of contexts.

The programme meets the requirements of the American Psychological Association in providing the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills, and values consistent with the science and application of psychology.

You will trace the history and philosophy of the discipline, learn to apply scientific methods of enquiry and explore the major concepts, theories, movements, and breakthroughs that have shaped psychology

Future opportunities

The course provides the knowledge and skills necessary for graduates to be eligible for accredited postgraduate studies in psychology in the United States or the United Kingdom, or to apply their research, critical thinking, and reasoning skills in any chosen path they wish to take.

Entry requirements

Applicants must provide evidence of successful completion of 12 years of schooling, with a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 in the American High School grading system or equivalent. This is calculated on a scale of 0-4, with a 2.5 roughly equivalent to a C+/B-. Other international qualifications will also be accepted. For those applicants whose mother tongue is not English, we also require evidence of English language proficiency. Please refer to our website for further details.
