About Education, Health Promotion and International Development , MA - at University College London (UCL)

This masters degree will:

  • identify key concepts and issues in education, health promotion and international development
  • develop the knowledge and skills you need to write project proposals and plans to implement and evaluate health promotion initiatives
  • reflect on research, analysis, policy and practice in relation to education and health promotion in low- and middle-income countries
  • enable you to critically review arguments, advance your own analysis and undertake research on education, international development and the promotion of health and well-being.

  • take part in a study visit to Paris (not included in the programme fee), incorporating UNESCO and the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP)
  • become a member of the London International Development Centre, a multidisciplinary centre of the University of London.
Who is this programme for?

Professionals and practitioners working in health, education, health promotion and/ or social development in low- or middleincome countries; also those who would like to transfer their expertise in highincome countries to these contexts.

Entry requirements

A good first degree or equivalent (for example, our BA Education Studies(Honours) and, normally, appropriate experience in a low- or middle-income country.

By coursework and a 20,000-word dissertation or 10,000-word report.

Attendance

Mixed mode, including face-to-face daytime sessions, evening intensive courses and online learning.

Entry requirements

1. Students are normally required to have a minimum overall IELTS score of 7.0 for direct entry, with a score of no lower than 6.0 for writing and 6.5 for reading. 2. A good first degree or equivalent (for example, our BA Education Studies(Honours) and, normally, appropriate experience in a low- or middle-income country.
