Child Nursing Pre-Registragistion course will enable you to develop the necessary knowledge, attitudes, skills and behaviours to be a children’s nurse and meet the demands of the role in a continuously changing healthcare syste. You will also be prepared for the multi-faceted role required by children and families now and in future years.
You will be taught in the classroom with group and self-directed learning which will provide the fundamental knowledge and understanding required to care for children and young people.
Through classroom debate you will be prepared for the role of advocate by understanding and applying the strategies by which the voices of children and families are heard and acted on.
Students will learn and develop safe and effective nursing care that meets the holistic needs of children and families, both through simulation and in a variety of practice settings. They will be able to adapt learned skills to the individual situation, keeping the child and family at the centre of their nursing practice.
Once you graduate you will be ready to take up a role as a children’s nurse, recognising the value of inter-professional working, using skills of leadership and teamwork alongside excellent nursing principles to influence contemporary and future practice.
