About Advanced Organic Chemistry, MSc - at University of East Anglia (UEA)

Study

This course will enhance the student's understanding of the subject of Chemistry, provide realistic training in experimental chemistry, and perfect skills in underlying aspects of organic chemistry, such as organic reaction mechanisms, spectroscopy, and synthetic strategy.

Structure

Through a series of advanced lecture courses, problem solving classes, advanced laboratory exercises and a part-year laboratory research project, students of this course will attain a professional level of knowledge in key aspects of Organic Chemistry. Typically you will take 9 tested general level and advanced level lecture courses and 3 - 4 problem solving classes. The research project will be assessed through a written dissertation and oral examination.

Open to students with a good first degree (min 2.1 or equivalent) in Chemistry or a related science component.
