Designed for senior clinicians and health care practitioners seeking to have a more dynamic, multidisciplinary understanding of all areas of theory and practice.
Study
As an experienced nurse, midwife, AHP or radiographer, your skill-set and knowledge must continuously be updated to meet the sectors ever-changing needs. It's also important to keep you knowledge aligned with your own special interests. This course gives students both generic and specialist expertise to ensure they provide the appropriate, quality health care to patients, while excelling in their personal and professional development.
Structure
Students will study clinical assessment, research methods, pathophysiology: nature vs. nurture. They will undertake a research dissertation and select a module of special interest to pursue. You will also meet regularly with peers from other schools within the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Employability
This MSc will advance your theoretical and clinical expertise to the highest level. The course meets the NMC 'Draft Standards for Advanced Practice' enabling practitioners to develop their skills and services related to any clinical pathway. The practice-based programme will appeal to a broad range of health care professions and the student will benefit from studying collaboratively with a variety of peers and professionals.
Open to students with a good degree (min 2.2 or equivalent) in a health care related profession that they are qualified in. Special entry requirements include state registration with a recognised health profession council combined with first-hand experience; those already qualified as an Emergency Health Care Practitioner.
