Study
With the increasing competition and globalisation of world markets, human resource management is becoming complex and transcending geographical boundaries. This degree prepares graduates to be able to face that challenge and complexity. The degree is suited to the needs of UK and non-UK students alike, and has been designed to meet the needs of graduates who have not previously specialised in human resource management.
Structure
The course assumes that graduates have no specialised background in human resource management, and stretches their knowledge and skills to an advanced level. It provides a sound foundation for successful participants to develop careers in human resource management (HRM). Teaching is provided by members of academic staff, often in a relatively informal learning environment, with programmes incorporating lectures, seminars, and practical work. Assessment is by essays and other written assignments, written or oral examinations, and projects. Throughout the course, students will be exposed to guest speakers from the industry through our MSc Business Forum, supported by the UEA Alumni Fund and other industry links of Norwich Business School.
Teaching
The Postgraduate MSc degree programmes offered by Norwich Business School adopt an approach to teaching and learning which is designed to promote academic achievement as well as developing the potential for future managerial excellence.
Employability
The course has a number of features that make it attractive to prospective students and to employers seeking to recruit their next generation of HRM managers. For example, there is a final cash prize of £1,000 to the top student on the MSc programme, plus opportunities for funded PhD studies, and the opening up recruitment opportunities through interaction with businesses and the University careers service.
