About Postgraduate Diploma in Molecular and Diagnostic Pathology, PG Dip - at The University of Hong Kong

The Postgraduate Diploma in Molecular and Diagnostic Pathology (PDipMDPath) programme aims to provide health care professionals with a deeper understanding of the molecular and genetic basis of diseases and the application of molecular technologies in disease management. The programme will be delivered through didactic seminars, tutorials and case studies/practicals, with self-assessment exercises and completion of a project report for students reading for the Diploma. On-line teaching and discussion will also form a part of the learning experience.

Emphasis will be given to the understanding of molecular and diagnostic pathology, with a focus on clinical translational application that will equip participants to meet the increasing expectations in health care from patients and the general public and is the first organized programme of its kind in Hong Kong. The PDipMDPath is approved by the Medical Council of Hong Kong as a quotable qualification.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for admission to the courses leading to a taught postgraduate qualification, a candidate:

a) shall comply with the General Regulations;

b) shall hold a Bachelor's degree of this University or a qualification of equivalent standard from this University or another comparable institution accepted for this purpose;

c) shall satisfy any other admission requirements which may be prescribed from time to time for the relevant curriculum; and

d) for a candidate who is seeking admission on the basis of a qualification from a university or comparable institution outside Hong Kong of which the language of teaching and/or examination is not English, shall satisfy the University English language requirement applicable to high degrees as prescribed under General Regulation G2(b).

An application for exemption from the above requirements shall be considered on a case by case basis.
