About Programme and Project Management, MSc - at University of Liverpool

The University of Liverpool Management School is one of an elite group of institutions worldwide to be AACSB-Accredited.

The MSc in Programme and Project Management has been designed for graduates seeking to develop a career in project management, a field which is becoming increasingly more important in most sectors. The programme can support a conversion of focus for graduates with no background or experience of project management, as well as those who are involved with projects and their management.

The intention is to provide a theoretical and practical exposition of the factors that are necessary for effective project management in today’s global and highly competitive markets. In addition, the programme demonstrates how successful project managers perform and deal with complexities and ambiguities associated with the malleable nature of projects. The programme is designed to provide familiarity with fundamental theories of strategic and operational management theory, as well as practicing of management in projects, programmes and portfolios. The programme has a strong business focus reflected in the programme structure and modules which span from strategic thinking to practically planning, executing and controlling programmes and projects with consideration of risk.

The programme is enhanced with a final MSc project with a practical and action based focus to direct and test the knowledge gained during the taught elements of the programme through application in a project management environment.

Knowledge of programme and project management gained throughout the programme, enhanced with the skills developed to analyse, plan, and put those plans into practice will prepare graduates to work in project management roles in a variety of organisations including manufacturing, engineering, service or public led businesses.
