About Applied Multimedia, BA - at University of Nicosia

The programme aims to train students to become Multimedia specialists in the following employment fields:

  • Interface designers, web designers and developers
  • Game designers and developers
  • Animation, video and audio specialists
  • Project managers in the multimedia industry
  • The programme is based on both theory and practice with emphasis given to the concepts and techniques necessary for the design and development of advanced multimedia applications.

    Objectives

  • Acquaint students with the theoretical concepts and implications of all the elements involved in contemporary multimedia (i.e. interactivity, graphics, video, sound, animation and text).
  • Provide an environment in which students can become acquainted with the theory and practice of multimedia project development.
  • Acquaint students with contemporary software used to create multimedia elements and complete multimedia projects.
  • Introduce students to the creative potential of the computer and computing in the context of art and design and guide them to use their imagination to express their creativity in the digital arts.
  • Encourage students to examine and critically evaluate current trends in multimedia and suggest/apply improved techniques in creating innovative multimedia applications.
  • Career Prospects

    Graduates of the applied multimedia program are fully prepared and equipped for industry positions as: Web designer, web developer, graphic artist, interface designer, audio specialist, video specialist, animation specialist, electronic publication and game designer and developer.

    Access to Further Studies

    Graduates of the programme can be accepted into Second Cycle degrees (Master's Degree).
