About Master's Degree Programme in Information and Communication Technology: Cyber Security, MSc (Tech) - at University of Turku

The Master’s Degree Programme in Information and Communication Technology provides versatile and high quality ICT education in selected fields of ICT, with an established reputation in innovative, interdisciplinary, and international education. This programme is taught by the University of Turku in Finland. 

The Cyber Security specialisation track gives its students profound and substantial education and expertise in the field of security and technology of networked systems. The track focuses on researching cyber security technologies developed for networked systems and applications of the communication-intensive future. The technological topics covered include security of smart environments, system and network security, security of communication systems and applications, and designing secure systems. Students will explore both technological and theoretical scientific advances in the field and apply them to practice.

The expertise profile may lead to a career title of e.g.

  • network security specialist,
  • information security specialist,
  • security manager,
  • chief information officer, or
  • cryptography engineer.

The information-intensive industry has become one of the most important business sectors in Finland, and in the information society, information has become one of the most relevant products. In Europe, ICT has a critical role in improving the profitability of the business sector and in responding to the needs of the society.

Free for citizens of EU/EEA countries or Switzerland. For citizens of non-EU/EEA countries €12,000/academic year.

Language Requirements

Applicants must have excellent English language skills and a certificate that proves those skills. You can indicate your language skills by taking one of the internationally recognized English language tests.
