Focus And Disciplines

New techniques, shifting roles, complicated logistics and globalization are having a major impact on the nature of construction projects. Complex, innovative and multidisciplinary projects in a dynamic environment call for a new breed of engineers who are able to expertly combine engineering knowledge with management skills.

The Master's programme in Construction Management and Engineering (CME) can train you to be just such an engineer. A hands-on expert who is able to combine the technical aspects of civil engineering projects with the non-technical dimension.

Research And Specialization

The 3TU Master's programme in CME uses cutting-edge technology to dissect and understand processes which integrate governance issues, societal trends and management methodologies. Key areas of study in the University of Twente's CME programme include sustainable building, public-private governance, industrialization in engineering and construction, IT in the supply chain and IT and risk management. This broad programme has been developed in close association with the construction industry and is not only project-based but also geared towards process and design.

Why Opt For Construction Management And Engineering?

Large construction projects are becoming more and more complicated. These projects can only be completed by teams of people with a variety of skills, all working together. You can only effectively manage construction projects by making sure that the risks that are always part and parcel of such projects are predicted and controlled. Sound like a worthwhile challenge? Then this might be just the programme for you!

Career Prospects

Career opportunities for CME graduates can be found across the full spectrum of the building and construction industry, at home and abroad. Future employers may include building and construction companies, organizations such as insurers with their own project development department, engineering and design firms, consultancy firms, government agencies, NGOs and institutes of research and education.
