Media studies is an academic discipline that looks at the media in all of its different forms, and how it affects the world and our societies. Whilst media and mass media has been present in our lives for centuries, developments in recent decades have meant that media is ever available for our digestion, in an even wider variety of formats.
Modules you study may include media and popular culture, understanding audiences, digital media, and cultural politics in media. Your degree will be delivered in a mixture of modes. These could include lectures and seminars, as well as creative projects. Depending on your course, you may have the opportunity to take part in a work placement.
