The National Progression Award in Bakery (SCQF 4) is designed to offer school leavers and those with no formal bakery qualifications an opportunity to study the subject at an introductory level. The course will provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding required to progress onto further bakery courses. On this course you will be able to make a range of sweet and savoury baked goods; including breads, pastries, pies, cakes, gateaux and desserts.
An integral part of this course is the National 5 Practical Cake Craft Qualification, which will provide an introduction to the designing, making and decorating of cakes. This component includes an SQA written Examination, therefore students are required to complete all associated theory lessons in support of the Examination.

Practical lessons are delivered in our state of the art bakeries and theory subjects are delivered in our ultra-modern classrooms equipped with all the latest information technologies. You'll also benefit from engaging with our Virtual Learning Environment; MyCity.
