About International MBA, MBA - at Nyenrode Business Universiteit
Nyenrode's International MBA is for managers that dare to invest in their own development and future. It is a general management MBA program spanning 13 intensive months. Designed for young managers, our students have on average five years of work experience and are approximately 30 years of age when starting the program. Selected by students for its size, the International MBA class typically numbers 35-40 students per year, of some 20-plus nationalities. Combining theory and practice throughout, the program also features an international module at the Kellogg School of Management, USA.
Program structureThe 13 months of the International MBA program are split into study blocks. Each block offers a range of subjects from the more quantitative skills through to softer management skills. Teaching methods vary from subject to subject, with a mix of case work, experiential learning, lectures, business simulations, and team projects. Groupwork is essential, and students are frequently required to work in different study teams. In this way, a range of professional, cultural and educational backgrounds are brought together to address a particular problem. Each and every project is a far-reaching learning experience.
Project ThesisThe final element of the MBA is the company sponsored project thesis - the ultimate opportunity for students to put into practice all they have learned, and many students use the project thesis as a stepping stone towards their career after graduation. Working alone or in small teams, students complete their project thesis under the supervision of a mentor from the sponsoring company, and also of a Nyenrode faculty member. The project thesis closes with a thesis defence.
Career ManagementThe Nyenrode Career Services Center works with all students to help prepare them for career steps beyond the MBA, through counselling and a range of workshops Career Services also brings students into contact with Nyenrode's own extensive career development network in the international business community.
Alumni NetworkStudents become a part of the greater Nyenrode network as soon as they join our programs. There are currently some 13000 Nyenrodians located world-wide.
Student profileNyenrode has a tradition of entrepreneurship, and an ideal candidate is someone who is prepared to take initiative and aim for top quality. Nyenrode students think outside the box, set new limits and look for innovative solutions. Importantly, our students are accountable managers who think before they act, and then act respectfully and responsibly, both personally and with respect to their surroundings.
A minimum of three years of work experience is required for the International (full-time) MBA. On average, students have five years of work experience when starting the program. All applicants are also required to have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
