About Laws, LLM - at Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London

This programme gives you the freedom to build your own bespoke LLM. You can choose from the full range of the School of Law's London-based LLM modules.

  • Freedom to choose: We have a wide range of LLM modules which will enable you to create your own programme
  • Study with a top ten UK law school
  • Attend events and guest lectures from leading law firms and companies including Baker McKenzie, Herbert Smith Freehills LL, the BIHR, Clifford Chance and Dentons

This LLM enables you to build your own customised degree by allowing you to pick from many of the modules offered across all specialisms. You will also be able to do an elective dissertation (30 credits) in any legal topic of your choice.

You don't have to choose your modules until you have learnt about them in greater detail during your induction period. However, not all of the modules listed will be available in any one year and semesters listed can be subject to change.

If you would like your degree to show expertise in a specific area of law, you should apply for one of our specialised LLM programmes.

Additional costs

Depending on your chosen pathway, some of your modules may incur some additional costs (eg travel).

Structure

You will need to complete 180 credits in total, 30 credits of which can be by an elective dissertation of 10,000 words.
