About Crossmedia in Film and Television, BA - at Tallinn University

Crossmedia in Film and Television combines the areas of media production, storytelling and management, offering both theoretical grounds and exciting practical assignments. Studying Crossmedia in Film and Television means learning how to tell a story that unfolds on many directions where for example a story is introduced as a feature film, then expanded as a TV series and explored further as a live performance.

The curriculum  is a well balanced mix of theoretical and practical course aimed at shaping the media and creative industries professionals of the future. The courses range from practical courses such as Transmedia Project, Sound Recording, Writing for Transmedia and Camera Work to theoretical courses such as Introduction to crossmedia environments, Semiotics of multimedia, Media research  and Media theories.

The curriculum is tailored to students that have an interest in audiovisual production, film making, and television as a whole. The ideal student is the one who wants to work in the audiovisual and creative industries of the future where single productions leave space to multimedia experiences.

At Crossmedia for Film and Television we are looking for students that are in love with storytelling and, more specifically, for students that are in love with telling stories from different angles.

Crossmedia in film and television is a pioneering curriculum that, in recent years, has been matched by only a few other universities in Europe. The specific attention to a multimedia approach to storytelling has given the curriculum its own spot in the international and national scene.

Since its initiation (September 2013) students have participated in a number of national and international festivals, have won both international and national prizes and their projects have been given wide spread attention in the Estonian media.

Furthermore, Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communication School (BFM) is a multicultural creative environment, where you students are surrounded by international peers and are taught by internationally recognized teaching staff and industry practitioners from many different countries.
