Double degree

A double degree programme is a unique opportunity to study attwo top universities and obtain two Master's degrees in two years' time. In the first year, you study Economics at Maastricht University, and in your second year Economic Policy in Antwerp.

About the programme

The Master of Economic Policy has an international profile, and focuses on policy-related scientific research. The two modules allow you to shape the programme according to your interests.

During the programme, you'll have plenty of opportunities to integrate practical experience by following guest lectures, taking part in a Career Development Track, attending job fairs, etc.

Curriculum

Besides the four compulsory courses, you can choose one of two modules. Each has a set curriculum.

Compulsory courses

  • Applied Welfare Economics
  • Macroeconomic policy
  • Applied Econometrics
  • Research Methods in Economics

Two modules

You have a choice between:

  • Public Policy: this module focuses on public policies in, for example, labor, environment, health, inequality, and education, emphasizing both efficiency and equity.
  • Macroeconomic Policy and Financial Markets: this module focuses on monetary policy, public finance, financial regulation, and financial economics

Master's Thesis

The Master's Thesis is the crowning piece of an academic Master curriculum. Here, you demonstrate your in-depth knowledge of the foundations, structures, and methodologies underpinning the Economic Policy program.
