About Management, MPhil - at University of Exeter Business School

The School of Business and Economics offers the opportunity to study for research degrees in accounting, finance, economics, and management including leadership studies.

Typically research is undertaken wholly within one of these disciplines but it could be interdisciplinary involving another discipline in the School or with another in the university. Both Accounting and Finance and Economics were graded 5 in the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise and the relatively new Department of Management was graded 4. The School's capacity to supervise in the area of finance and related fields has been considerably enhanced by the establishment of the Centre for Finance and Investment (Xfi) in 2004. There are 50-60 research students and over 300 taught postgraduate students in the School. Without exception research students are initially registered for MPhil and transfer to PhD depends on satisfactory progress; you may apply to study for MPhil with no intention of proceeding to the higher award.
