About Animal Management, BSc (Hons) - at University of Greenwich

The BSc (Hons) Animal Management offers a high quality broad-based training experience in animal management, by providing a solid understanding of applied animal sciences, together with a comprehensive insight into a number of key disciplines crucial to animal management. This programme enables students to develop their theoretical, practical and technical experience in animal management.Degree structure

Level 4 (Year 1)

  • Evolution and Taxonomy
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Principles of Animal Husbandry
  • Concepts of Conservation
  • Concepts of Animal Behaviour
  • Research Skills
  • Concepts of Welfare.

Level 5 (Year 2)

  • Breeding Management and Genetics
  • Exotic Collection Management
  • Industrial Experience and Skills Development
  • Animal Ecophysiology
  • Statistics for the Animal Sciences
  • Field Biology and Conservation Management
  • Animal Health and Disease Management
  • A choice of either: Problem Behaviour Management and Animal training or Global Biodiversity and Conservation Issues.

Level 6 (Year 3)

  • Animal Welfare Issues
  • Comparative Animal Nutrition
  • Advanced Animal Behaviour
  • Honours Project for the Animal Sciences
  • Current Issues
  • Wildlife and Habitat Conservation
  • A choice of two of the following: Behavioural Ecology or Animal Production Systems.
