This programme will allow you to combine the study of history and sociology. You will study at a World Heritage Site, itself a living legacy of British scientific, maritime and imperial history, as well as a thriving multicultural centre of contemporary Britain.
Living historyThe history pathway explores a wide range of historical topics, from global events to community history, and from witchcraft to the World Wars. We take full advantage of our historically and culturally rich location and proximity to central London, incorporating visits to museums and archives into our courses and offer opportunities for you to develop your research skills and to develop practical and professional skills through a work placement.
Applied sociologyThe sociology element of this programme will allow you to specialise in the study of applied sociology. Sociology is an innovative and vibrant subject offering students the opportunity to study courses covering a range of issues from consumer culture to social justice, from gender and identity to global relations. A broad foundation in sociological thinking and critique is offered while also supporting you to pursue your own ideas and interests through focused research.
RankingOur sociology courses are ranked first in London for student satisfaction by the Complete University Guide 2017.
